About the Machon

A community is actually a team. Everyone can contribute something, from the Rav to the Va'ad to the Gabbaim, to the people responsible for buildings and grounds, to youth group leaders, and all the other volunteers that help make a Kehilla function. Everyone has a role.

What sets apart the truly exceptional community is when everyone pulls together to help the Kehilla transcend being just a place to come together to daven and have shiurim and public events. Shirat David is such a place.

Under the visionary leadership of Rav Shlomo Katz and other dedicated members of the Shirat David, Machon Zimrat Ha'aretz was conceived and launched to help train and prepare special individuals to go out and into English speaking Datil Leumi communities across Israel to play a new role, that of Mashpia.

The Mashpia can be the Rav or someone who works in support of the Rav or even just another member of the community, as long as they continuously seek out ways to have a positive spiritual impact on the Kehilla.

This is the goal of Machon Zimrat Ha'aretz, this is our mission, to train Mashpi'im how to inspire others to increase their Ruchniyus by helping them connect with their inner selves, in turn enabling them to achieve spiritual heights way beyond what they thought they were capable of and thereby enhancing the overall sense of Kehilla and community.
